About Zoom! Teeth Whitening

There are many factors that can lead to teeth discoloration, such as drinking dark liquids over a long period of time, chewing tobacco use, and smoking. When teeth begin to look dull and yellow, it can decrease an individual's confidence as well as make a person look older than they are. At Houston Heights Dentistry, Dr. Neela Patel uses Zoom! teeth whitening to enhance and brighten the smiles of her patients. Zoom! is a teeth whitening treatment that is safe and effective for removing stains, and it can whiten teeth up to eight shades lighter in one visit. As an in-office treatment, Zoom! teeth whitening can be completed in about an hour. Dr. Patel customizes each procedure to the needs and wants of each patient to achieve the best results possible.

Zoom! Teeth Whitening - What to Expect

For best results, you should have a professional teeth cleaning before whitening. Ideally, this should be done right before. Before starting the Zoom! whitening treatment, one of our dental team will clean and dry the teeth for the best results. While no sedation is needed, a protective barrier will be applied over the gums, and safety glasses will be placed over the patient’s eyes. Once the teeth and gums are ready, Dr. Patel will apply the Zoom! whitening gel and then activate the gel with an LED light. The light can be adjusted to different intensity settings according to the patient’s goals. Zoom! procedures usually take under an hour.

Zoom! Teeth Whitening - Treatment Aftercare

After the Zoom! teeth whitening treatment, we will give you instructions on what to expect and tips on maintaining your new, bright smile, including what food and drinks to avoid. Some patients may not need another treatment for years, but this varies based on the patient’s habits and lifestyle. 70% of patients do not have any sensitivity after their appointment, and those that do have it disappear within 24 hours.

Zoom! Teeth Whitening - Insurance Coverage

Since Zoom! teeth whitening is a cosmetic procedure, it is generally not covered by dental insurance, but our office accepts many payment forms.
